João Palhinha has been named in the Portugal squad for the upcoming 2022 World Cup.
Competition in the middle of the park is incredibly strong in the Portuguese camp, but Palhinha’s form for Fulham means he will be battling with the likes of Ruben Neves and William Carvalho for gametime out in Qatar.
Portugal kick off their tournament against Ghana on Thursday 24th November, and will also face Uruguay and South Korea in Group H.
Speaking to FFCtv, he said: “It’s a dream, it’s a big dream in my life, for my family, my friends, everyone dreamt of this.
“I will do my best for sure, like I do here, to help my country to do good things. We want to do a good World Cup and give a gift to our country.”
