Manor Solomon was at a loss as to why Fulham’s performance dropped in the second half at Bournemouth on Saturday.
Ahead through Andreas Pereira’s early strike and in control of proceedings, the Whites struggled to match those levels after the restart, ultimately falling to a 2-1 loss.
“I have no idea why this happened,” Solomon admitted. “We spoke about this after the game, the Gaffer spoke with us about this.
“We shouldn’t play like this, especially after how we played first half. We should have continued the same way in the second half, so we are disappointed.
“We are really disappointed. We wanted to take much more from this game. We were 1-0 up and played really well first half. I don’t know what happened in the second half.
“We’re really disappointed with the result, and the performance in the second half.”
The quality of the opening goal suggested we could be in for a great afternoon on the south coast, with Solomon heavily involved in the slick passing move.
“[Marco Silva] always wants us to play in behind, he asks for the wingers to get in behind,” he explained. “When Vini got the ball, I saw a clean space, and then it was a great pass by Harrison Reed, and a great finish by Andreas.
“It was a lovely move, a team goal, a great goal by ourselves. And after this goal we played even better, we dominated the game, our build up was good, we were just missing the last part near the box.
“We should have played the same way in the second half, and I don’t know why we didn’t.”
It’s four consecutive defeats now for the lads, but Solomon knows his side have it in themselves to return to form for the final 10 fixtures of the campaign.
“It’s been a great season by us, but the last few games weren’t the best, so we want to continue the same way we did in the beginning and middle of the season, and not like in the last four games.
“We need to analyse what we’ve done wrong, we need to get better, to improve, and to play the same way we played a few weeks ago.”
