West Ham United

The Hammers are enjoying their 12th consecutive season in the Premier League after their instant return to the top-flight in 2012 following relegation the year before.

Manager David Moyes initially took charge of West Ham in November 2017, before leaving seven months later and returning to the Club in December 2019.

In Moyes’ four seasons at the London Stadium, the Scotsman has guided the Irons to two top-eight finishes, a Europa League semi-final and the Europa Conference League trophy last season.

Ahead of competing in this season’s Europa league, the summer saw United lose skipper Declan Rice to Arsenal but arrivals were aplenty as Mohammed Kudus and Ederson Alvarez both joined from Ajax, James Ward-Prowse signed from Southampton and Konstantinos Mavropanos arrived from Stuttgart.

Form Guide

The Clarets head into this weekend’s clash looking to get off to a winning start to following the November international break.

Kompany’s side suffered a 3-1 defeat last time out to Arsenal but will be aiming to climb out the bottom three this weekend with a victory.

Meanwhile, the Hammers won 3-2 in their previous fixture against Nottingham Forest but have lose their last three matches on the road in the Premier League.

United’s last win away from home came against Luton Town in September but Moyes’ side’s home form impresses and sees the London side sit 9th in the table.

What Vincent Kompany said

“I’d hope being desperate to win is something you always have. I don’t feel you can ever go into a game not being fully committed to winning games.

“I’d like to think that does really live in this club, but the league has been tough for us. It’s not been easy whether we’ve played well or whether we’ve played against teams that are stronger than us.

“It’s always been a case of adapting to this level still, but I’ve seen signs where I’d like to think the team is really looking forward to the games that we have ahead,

“It doesn’t need to be easy, we know West Ham are such a strong opponent, you just have to look at the players they’ve got and the investments they’ve had in certain positions. I really like the squad they have to be honest.”
