Alan’s notes ahead of this afternoon’s game

Good afternoon and welcome back to Turf Moor for today’s game against West Ham.

Following our second international break in quick succession, I’m happy to resume our league campaign this afternoon.

I was pleased with so many aspects of our performance against Arsenal. The Emirates is a tough place to go but we gave a good account of ourselves for large parts of the game. We have a talented squad and I want us to keep building on the positives from our recent displays.

The hard work doesn’t stop and I’m confident that Vincent and the team’s relentless attitude, high attention to detail and belief in what we are doing here, will bring important points.

Several of our squad joined up with their national teams during the international break. Congratulations to Ameen Al-Dakhil who made his starting debut with Belgium, what a wonderful achievement.

James Trafford also kept two clean sheets with the England U21s, while Josh Cullen, Dara O’Shea, Sander Berge, Connor Roberts, Arijanet Muric, Wilson Odobert, Johann Berg Gudmundsson, Darko Churlinov, Hjalmar Ekdal, Luca Koleosho and Zeki Amdouni also represented their respective countries.

I take great pride in the number of our players selected for their country and the wide range of nationalities that make up our squad.

In the lead up to this afternoon’s game, we have been encouraging supporters to bring a tin to donate to the town’s foodbank, which is operated by our official charity, Burnley FC in the Community.

Between 1-3pm this afternoon you can donate tins at the Vertu Motors branded cars which will be in place outside the main reception on Harry Potts Way.

Everybody that donates an item can be entered into a prize draw to win two hospitality tickets for a game at Turf Moor!

Demand for the foodbank continues to rise and as the weather turns colder and we approach the festive season, this is only going to increase. It’s important for us as a football club to support this vital facility and ensure that we can help the people in our town who are in need. I thank you all for your support.

Today’s game is a great opportunity for us all to come back together and put in a positive performance on home turf.

Clarets, your support is invaluable and never goes unnoticed by Vincent, the players and I. Home or away it means everything, so let’s keep it going.

UTC!

Alan
