Clarets host the Toffees in Saturday night football clash

Burnley return to Turf Moor this weekend following two away trips as the Clarets take on Everton on Saturday evening (5:30pm) live on Sky Sports.

Vincent Kompany’s men will be backed once again by a sell-out crowd at Turf Moor as the Toffees make the trip from Merseyside.

The Clarets will be aiming for back-to-back home wins when Sean Dyche’s side come to town with Burnley unbeaten at Turf Moor against Everton in the last three meetings between the two sides.

Burnley have team up with club partner Emma – The Sleep Company, official charity Burnley FC in the Community and Burnley Together to encourage all supporters attending this weekend’s fixture to bring a toy to Emma’s Winter Slumberland Toy Drive. Donations of new and unwrapped toys will be donated to children in need in the greater Burnley area.

Toys can be donated at the drop-off point in the northeast corner of the stadium, opposite the Rapidz Fan Zone. The drop-off point will be open ahead of the match on Saturday from 3pm until kick-off.

Everton

Former Clarets boss Dyche is in his first full season as manager after taking charge of the Toffees in January this year and guiding the club to Premier League survival on the final day of the 2022/23 campaign.

Ahead of his first full season as manager at Goodison Park, Dyche added the experience of former Aston Villa and Manchester United full-back Ashley Young to his squad alongside the attacking duo of Neto from Udinese and Chermiti from Sporting CP.

Winger Jack Harrison arrived on loan from Leeds United and Arnaut Danjuma signed on a season loan from Villareal.

Dyche isn’t the only familiar face on Merseyside with former assistant’s Steve Stone and Ian Woan also on the touchline, Everton also have three former Clarets in Michael Keane, James Tarkowski and Dwight McNeil.

Form Guide

Burnley come into this clash after picking up four points from the last three games. A 5-0 win over Sheffield United at Turf Moor was followed by defeat at Wolves.

The Clarets ended the three-game week with a 1-1 draw at Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend where Wilson Odobert’s strike was cancelled out by a late equaliser.

Everton have won four of their last five Premier League fixtures and have not conceded in their last three.

A 1-0 win at Forest was followed by a 3-0 victory over Newcastle United last week before seeing off Chelsea on Sunday at Goodison Park.

What Vincent Kompany said

“The lads are always hungry to play those games at home. What would it mean? It’s such a difficult question to answer because it would mean everything, always, but that’s how we live our life towards the job.

“Right now the game needs to be played and to play the game we have to make sure we’re prepared to the best of our ability and make sure the guys are hungry for every minute that needs to be played on that pitch.”

“The team (Everton) is definitely well coached, you can see the team is alive. They’ve had some good results this season.

“They’ve got some players who are performing at the levels at the moment. It’s a good squad, a good team with a lot of clarity in what they do and that always gives you an edge and eventually gives you results as well.”
