U21S PREVIEW: BURNLEY V COVENTRY CITY

Young Clarets eyeing fourth straight win

Burnley U21s start the month of March with the visit of Coventry City in the Professional Development League on Friday afternoon (1pm KO).

The young Clarets are starting to build momentum results wise, winning their last three games in all competitions and conceding just once in the process.

Earlier this week, Andy Farrell’s team were 1-0 victors over Fleetwood Town despite the challenging conditions at their Poolfoot Farm Training Complex.

A wide Renaldo Torraj free-kick forced Fleetwood’s Harry Wilson into taking action, but the midfielder could only divert the ball into his own net.

The result followed a 3-1 Central League Cup victory over Accrington Stanley and a 4-0 league triumph over Peterborough United.

Burnley are 6th in the league table with 25 points from 15 matches, four points and a place better off than opponents Coventry. The Sky Blues have, however, played four matches more.

Coventry are in a rich vein of form themselves, taking three wins and a draw from their last four league outings.

A Bradley Stretton penalty wasn’t enough for them to beat Birmingham City on Monday 26th February, so they’ll be keen to return to winning ways under John Dempster’s stewardship.

Supporters are welcome to attend the game at the County Ground in Leyland (PR25 2LF).

Burnley season ticket holders are entitled to free entry, with other adults priced at £5 and concessions being £2.
