Clarets return to action with trip to London

Burnley head to Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon (3pm) as Vincent Kompany’s side take on Chelsea following the March international break.

Kompany’s side will be aiming to build on the victory against Brentford last time out and will be backed by another sold-out away end in the capital, as Burnley head into the final nine games of the 2023/24 campaign.

Form Guide

Burnley head into Saturday’s game off the back of a 2-1 win over Brentford before the international break and will be looking to to extend their unbeaten run to three games after a draw to West ham prior to that.

The Clarets face a difficult task against the Blues but hold a fairly good record at Stamford Bridge, in the last five trips Burnley have won once, drawn twice and lost twice.

Chelsea are in impressive form having won five of their last eight fixtures in all competitions and the Blues have won their last three home games, with the last Premier League clash seeing the London side secure a 3-2 win over Newcastle United.

Pochettino’s men have only lost four home games in the Premier League this season with the defeats coming against Wolves, Nottingham Forest, Aston Villa and Brentford.

What Vincent Kompany said

“It is of that importance, but I have to say for us the feeling has been like this already for a while. The Chelsea game you’re playing against a top team but its not a luxury game for us, they’re all-important games in terms of getting points.

“We saw the feeling that it gives you when you do achieve it. The West Ham game was unfortunate but in terms of where we’re at at the moment, we hope that we can keep getting results.

“In tough times we’ve always remained strong, we’ve always kept a belief. So, all of a sudden when you have a win, I hope that kind of encourages that. We’re not really a team that’s too phased, we’re not a rollercoaster team, I don’t think.

At least not emotionally. So, I feel pretty confident that win or lose, we’re always able to get back on track. But it’s about winning at the moment.”
