Clarets entertain Wolves in midweek Turf Moor clash

Burnley are back at Turf Moor on Tuesday night (7:45pm) as Vincent Kompany’s side host Wolves.

The Clarets are now three games unbeaten in the Premier League following the 2-2 draw at Chelsea on the weekend, which has seen Burnley’s impressive form take five points from the last three fixtures.

Kompany’s side ran out deserved winners last time out at Turf Moor against Brentford and the home side will be aiming to make it four unbeaten on Tuesday evening.

Burnley hold a strong home record against Wolves, with the Clarets winning four and drawing two of the last six meetings between the two teams at Turf Moor.

Form guide

The Clarets come into Tuesday’s meeting with Wolves in good form after picking up a win and two draws in the last three games.

A point at West Ham was followed by victory over Brentford at Turf Moor prior to the international break, Kompany’s side then continued their run on Saturday with a battling 2-2 draw against Chelsea.

Wolves have lost three of their last four fixtures in all competitions, with defeats to Aston Villa and Newcastle in the Premier League and an Emirates FA Cup quarter-final defeat at home to Coventry City.

O’Neil’s side currently sit 10th in the league table with their last win on the road coming in an impressive 2-1 victory at Spurs in February.

What Vincent Kompany said

“I don’t think you can calculate too much right now, it’s game by game.

“We haven’t experienced easy games, but there’s also been very few games where we’ve not been in it, whether it was a top team or not.

“For us, it’s getting the momentum on the day, continuing our momentum and I just hope that Turf Moor will be ready for us on Tuesday. All we’re doing now is focusing on bringing that energy for that game.

“There’s still a story to be written by this team so for me it’s the next game and the game after that.”
