A look at both teams ahead of the weekend

Burnley

Defender Dara O’Shea is back available for selection for the Clarets after missing last weekend’s clash with Brighton through suspension.

Manager Vincent Kompany confirmed in Thursday’s press conference that both defenders Ameen Al-Dakhil and Jordan Beyer are likely to miss the remainder of the season.

Kompany did confirm that centre-back Hjalmar Ekdal is ‘fine’ after being withdrawn against Brighton last weekend.

Aaron Ramsey, Nathan Redmond and Luca Koleosho all continue their rehabilitation from their respective longer-term injuries.

Sheffield United

Blades boss Chris Wilder confirmed on Thursday that both defenders Jayden Bogle and Jack Robinson are ‘struggling’ to be involved this weekend but says striker Rhian Brewster has returned to training after missing the last six weeks.

Wilder also added on Thursday that former Toffees midfielder Tom Davies has recently returned to training after not featuring since early March but is a doubt for Saturday’s clash.

Earlier this month, Wilder stated that full-back George Baldock would be ruled out for up to six weeks with a calf issue and admitted it would be ‘remarkable’ if centre-back John Egan played again this season.

Max Lowe, Chris Basham and Rhys-Norrington Davies are all side-lined for the remainder of the 2023/24 campaign with their respective longer-term injuries.
